Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) hardware manufacturer snom has whetted the appetites of industry commentators, businesses and every VoIP reseller attending this week’s Enterprise Connect Conference by hinting at two significant announcements.
The firm will be holding court at its exhibit on the floor of the conference taking place at the Gaylord Palms Convention Centre, Orlando, between 28th February and 3rd March.
snom held its cards close to its chest on its blog as regards to what the announcements will be, stating:
“While we can’t divulge too much about our announcements now – stay tuned all week – suffice to say there will be new products announced and an existing relationship will be expanded.”
However, the company revealed that it will be handing out one of its most popular products for free; namely, the snom ONE IP PBX package.
snom ONE is an IP telephony system targeted at small businesses, such as doctor’s surgeries or law firms. It supports a maximum of 10 separate lines, and any phones connected to the system can ring at once, including mobile handsets. The software also supports many features expected of modern business phone systems, including call screening, hot-desking, call redirection and voicemail transcribing. It also supports snom’s own paging device, the PA1.
Any business that is suitably impressed with the software can choose to upgrade. snom ONE Yellow can support twice the number of extensions as the basic package, whilst the snom ONE Blue can handles as many as 150 extensions, which can be spread across five separate businesses.
Another product that snom is showing more of is the snom m9 DECT phone, which was first shown to the public at Miami’s ITEXPO 2011, which took place earlier on this month. However, this time, conference goers can finally expect a chance to get their hands on it and put the phone through its paces.
