Business VoIP handset manufacturer Yealink has introduced an upgraded version of its popular videophone model, the Elite.
Yealink says its new model, the VP2009 Elite, benefits from significant improvements on existing Elite features, as well as introducing some welcome additional functions.
Among the enhancements found on the new model is a quicker response capability for its seven inch touch screen, and an increase of 300,000 pixels in the capacity of its CMOS sensor camera – raising the device’s capacity to 2 million pixels in total.
The new videophone also features an improved HD sound box and the capacity to handle increased data via improvements in bandwidth and processing capability.
Yealink is however also banking on its raft of new features attracting the business community to its new model. These include BLF lights indicating the identities of other users connected on the network; three-way video conferencing capability; an intercom facility; and 20 direct station selection keys with corresponding indicator lights.
Of equal significance to potential purchasers, Yealink has been keen to point out that the prices of the new Elite model range are identical to those of the previous version; and that this price list, in the words of Yealink UK’s managing director, Andrew Roberts, was already ‘priced at less than half the cost of a comparable leading brand model’.
The launch of the VP2009 Elite is expected to help Yealink maintain its position as one of the leading phone suppliers in the increasingly technologically advanced internet protocol (IP) telephony and business VoIP (voice over internet protocol) markets.
Commenting on the launch of the new model, Roberts added that, with the new videophone’s ‘additional functionality’, ‘significantly enhanced’ voice quality, and ‘lightening fast’ touch screen capability, the device ‘represents a step leap forward’ in the market, and ‘presents a compelling choice for UK businesses’.
