A new proprietary software application claims to enable suppliers of session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking to offer their customers enhanced communications provision without the need for any additional major hardware installation.
Communications software specialist company, Broadsoft, says its new solution offers the opportunity to add both unified communications (UC) capability and mobile connectivity to SIP trunking installations much more speedily and straightforwardly than would normally be required to secure such enhancements.
The prospect of adding UC capability to SIP trunking installations – in other words enabling SIP trunking to deliver communications from a variety of sources to a unified reception point – is expected by Broadsoft to be an extremely attractive additional incentive for those businesses thinking of incorporating SIP trunking into their internal communications networks.
It is also anticipated that in a commercial climate where tablets and smartphones are becoming more frequently used in business premises, the capability for SIP trunking to permit the forwarding of communications to mobile devices will also be seen as a hugely welcome development by many firms.
For suppliers of SIP trunking, the new Broadsoft enhancement comes at a time when demand is high but market competition is also exceptionally fierce.
Broadsoft claims its new SIP enhancement software will therefore give smart SIP trunking suppliers an opportunity to steal a competitive edge over their rivals.
The strong desire among many businesses for SIP trunking largely stems from the latter’s capacity to help enable firms to send and receive communications via internet protocol (IP) telephony and business VoIP (voice over internet protocol); a capability which gives businesses greater control over their internal business phone systems management, and which can also lead to reduced phone costs.
One of the key advantages of SIP trunking is that it can help secure access to IP telephony and business VoIP without the need for existing business phone systems to be replaced.
