DrayTek, a manufacturer of routers for the many communications exchanges across the globe which utilise internet protocol (IP) telephony and business VoIP (voice over internet protocol) technologies, has been recognised with a prestigious award in its home country, Taiwan.
The ‘Taiwan Excellence’ award was given to the company by TAITRA – a body formed jointly by the country’s Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and its Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
Presented to DrayTek by TAITRA’s chairman, the award is understood to have been granted in relation to specific DrayTek products, including the VDSL Security Router (Vigor2760), the Quad-WAN High performance Enterprise Level Router (Vigor3900), and the PoE 802.11n Access Point (VigorAP 800).
Commenting on the award, DrayTek’s chief executive officer Calvin Ma said:
“Thanks so much for the positive feedback from TAITRA, this is an extremely fabulous achievement for the whole team in DrayTek. We keep focusing on producing high C/P networking solutions to SOHO (small office and home office) and SMB (small & medium business). Winning these awards gives us international stages to promote our products and let them know that DrayTek products are very competitive and innovative”
Many industry commentators have said that choosing DrayTek for the award was not surprising, given the company’s extremely high global profile and the considerable worldwide take-up of its products in recent years.
The IP telephony and business VoIP sectors have proved particularly fruitful for DrayTek, with many in these industries having praised the flexibility, reliability, and ease of use of DrayTek routers.
With the worldwide market for adapting business phone systems for IP telephony and business VoIP use continuing to grow – whether through the introduction of session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking or via a host business VoIP provider or reseller – many commentators believe the future for global router sales appears likely to remain vibrant.
