Information and communications technology specialist Huawei Enterprise has agreed terms with Telematics on a channel joint venture. The partnership cements the hard work that the Chinese firm has put in to increase its presence in the Middle East and spark the anticipated growth in the unified communications (UC) market.
A recent Frost and Sullivan report revealed that the UC market in the Middle East is likely to reach a value of $235m in 2014. As mobility becomes more prevalent in the workforce, UC becomes more relevant, as it enables users to communicate seamlessly on the go through the use of mobile devices.
The vice president of Huawei Enterprise’s Middle East division, Dong Wu, said:
“Huawei’s channel partner programme plays a vital role in our overall Middle East business strategy where Qatar and the UAE are some of our fastest growing markets.
“Telematics, part of the BMTC group, brings valuable insights into key vertical industries such as finance, hospitality, and government. Together we look forward to bringing the latest in unified communications technologies to customers throughout the region.”
Telematics was appointed by Huawei as a Channel partner at silver level, a decision which was influenced by the firm’s extensive client list and expertise of the Qatari and UAE markets. The partnership means that Telematics will be in a position to offer products from Huawei Enterprise’s unified communication and collaboration (UCC) portfolio, specifically video conferencing and IP telephony, to its current and expanding customer list.
As a team, Telematics and Huawei will provide UCC solutions, targeting large government enterprises as well as those in the education, hospital, aviation and transportation industries.
Telematics’ general manager, Rajiv Dutta, said that Huawei was chosen as a partner due to the extensive product range it has made available, as well as the its business history and interactive channel group. He added that his company is looking forward to building on the relationship for a long time to come.
