Australian firm UXC Connect has released a new product which utilises the OpenTouch for Cloud feature from Alcatel-Lucent in order to offer flexible and secure communications abilities to its commercial clients across the country.
The Integrated Telephony as a Service (iTaaS) offering was launched with help from NYSE and Alcatel-Lucent to cater for Australian companies seeking a unified communications solution. It will enable businesses to benefit from the cost-effectiveness and flexibility required to operate an application-driven, highly mobile workforce.
UXC Connect is now in a position to provide a number of options to its enterprise-level clients wishing to enhance their IP telephony set-up and increase their level of unified communications features – such as document sharing, video conferencing and instant messaging – whilst transitioning from a dedicated software and hardware model to an ‘as-a-service’ model.
The OpenTouch Suite for Cloud allows companies to collaborate on conversations through multimedia, multi-party and multi-device experiences. It also enables staff to transition between professional and personal device features in order to serve the conversation. The software behind the technology is virtualised in order to fit easily into data centres and enable providers to offer it to businesses as a flexible and simple licensing model.
UXC Connect CEO Ian Poole said that the iTaaS will allow companies to experience the benefits that unified communications offer whilst maintaining security, scalability and service. He explained:
“Our iTaaS solution has been developed in close consultation with our customers to ensure that we offer a feature-rich range of telephony, unified communications and collaboration tools that can be delivered in a way that will support businesses and IT strategies for enterprise customers.”
He went on to say that more than 25 years of experience with offering customers communications solutions, along with the extra features provided by the Alcatel-Lucent collaboration, will put the firm in a good position to fulfil customer requirements.
